Did you know that giving out to community gives you joy and content? I applaud ATC Uganda for the donation made to Liberty Medical Center on 10th September 2020. It was a delight moment witnessing Sheila Mugisha, ATC Uganda Head Assets handing over 2 computers, Wi-Fi router, and a one year Microsoft office 365 subscription to Reonali Harelima, a clinical officer at Liberty Medical Center.
The equipment will not only help in the implementation of an Electronic Health Management System at Liberty Medical Centre but also enable doctors maintain the Standard Operating Procedures that include social distancing as a way of controlling the spread of Covid-19. With the Online Health Management System, doctors will be protected from close contact with patients while they communicate effectively. It will also enable scheduling appointments to avoid overcrowding at the clinic.
Imagining how health services are going to be eased with the Health Management System, I knew the community of Kyengera was lucky to receive such a donation. Being one who forgets to take my medication on time, I wished my community had the same Health System as well to send me notifications reminding me of my medical obligations to avoid missing my dosage.
Watching clinical officers at the Liberty Medical Center sharing patient information and easily accessing patients diagnosis data was reason enough for me to celebrate the health care convenience extended to the doctors and community of Kyengera. The challenges of opening loads of pages just to locate where they wrote the patients diagnosis had been solved by the Health Management System.
On departure, I couldn’t stop smiling at the fact that ATC Uganda had indeed given a rose to the community of Kyengera. My sincere appreciation goes to the American Tower Corporation Uganda that is keen to preventing loss of lives and curb the transmission of Covid-19 in Uganda through such donations.
